1. Hostess Twinkies Snackisodes - December 12, 2011
My first shoot interning as a production assistant! I took coffee orders, organized & cleaned up lunch, & during takes passed props to actors in scenes when necessary. I also helped get some Hostess CupCakes' cream on Mr. Right's fingers in the third video below!

2. Obama's Young Adult Novel Plan - January 2012
On set for this shoot I helped keep quiet on the set and helped create a prop. I know it doesn't sound glamorous but it is a necessary part of the job.

3. Durex Pleasure Bear - February 2012
Josh and Vince directed this marketing campaign introducing the character of The Durex Pleasure Bear for Durex Condoms with Click3x and Euro RSCG Worldwide.
|
In the morning Josh voiced both the male and female bears' voice in the recording booth with the clients present. It was fascinating to watch Josh be able to convey so many emotions in a comedic way for both the female and male voice.
|
In the afternoon a puppeteer came in with his puppet to act as The Durex Pleasure Bear. The puppeteer sat underneath the table that the bear was sitting on top of. The puppeteer stylized the bear so it could look female and male when needed. This was one of the most fun shoots I have ever worked on.
|
We played the audio recorded that day while the puppeteer acted with the bear. My responsibility in the room was to push play on the audio track, keep a video shot or field tape log, and write down the best takes to create notes for the editor.

4. Planet Earth - Narrated by Kids - April 14th, 2012
Go inside the hysterical narrator auditions for PLANET EARTH, the landmark natural history series - and watch as some of the acclaimed program's youngest fans step up to the mic!
|
Planet Earth, Narrated by Kids was a joint venture between j+v films, B.B.C. America, and C.D.Z.A.
This shoot was for a spot for the B.B.C. America program Planet Earth. The goal of the shoot was to film kids narrating already filmed footage of B.B.C. America’s Planet Earth as if they were David Attenborough. For this shoot I had a lot to prepare in advance. I had to hunt down and purchase all props as well as write down each kids' script on cue cards and on index cards. I was also very busy the day of the shoot greeting the parents and kids, as well as being in charge of craft services for the first time. I loved being so involved with the project and feeling useful on set all day. List of Pre-Production Tasks:

5. Assistants - April 24th, 2012
Assistants Sizzle from Luke Kelly-Clyne on Vimeo. |
This shoot was for an original pilot called "Assistants" written by Luke Kelly-Clyne, a colleague of Vinny and Josh’s. There were many scenes that had to be shot that day, all of which took place inside of a condo in the west village. Josh and Vinny teamed up with production company Cross Borders as well as with Reel Life Films to create this sizzle reel of the pilot.

6. AT&T Live Event
Entire Cast and Crew of AT&T Shoot! |
For this shoot I was a production assistant on a project with AT&T, j+v films and C.D.Z.A. In this project musical improv singers and musicians created on the spot over 500 songs for individuals which was later shared on YouTube. The LIVE EVENT for this was filmed on May 22nd and 23rd of 2012. Participants who wanted a song made up for them would go to ATTthankyounotes.com and type in their name, city, the musical genre they wanted the song in and to describe in one sentence what made them awesome! On the day of the Live Event the musicians and improvisers would read off the participants submission and create in the moment an original song for them filmed and shared live! There was a rehearsal for this shoot on Saturday, May 5th in order to prepare for the two day live event. On May 5th I had many responsibilities: I was in charge of food catering and snacks for the day and made sure to ask again to all cast and crew if they had any food allergies so I could make sure everyone was well fed and nourished. I also worked with the production coordinator Dan De Lorenzo on getting all on-camera talent to sign releases as well as ensure all cast and crew filled out paperwork (W-2's and W-9's) for their payment to be processed. I also assisted by running last minute errands to RadioShack or other stores in search of lightbulbs, camera cards, and a dimmer switch. At the end of the day I helped break down the set and organized all paperwork in a binder for the production coordinator Dan De Lorenzo. In the days leading up to the two day live event, there was a production call between all the coordinators, assistants, the art director, the director Joe Sabia, the D.P.'s and with Vinny and Josh to make sure all were on the same page and had completed any tasks necessary before the day of the shoot. On the first day of the shoot I was in charge of craft services and even received my own interns to assist me. Having had Josh and Vinny as my two bosses provided me with the best example of how should be treated by their boss. Vinny and Josh were always kind, organized, and direct with me. They are two of the best guys in this industry and they constantly showed me how you can be professional, get a project done, and have fun all while creating a stress free and friendly work environment where people work hard out of their own personal drive and work ethic and out of respect for them. Vinny and Josh are excellent role models that inspire those on the set to have consideration for them and the project. The two day live shoot ran smoothly and everyone had a lot of fun.

Because our 2 Million fans rock, we sang as many personalized songs about them as we could. Thanks everyone!

7. Copper Miniatures - August 2012
I worked as the production coordinator in several facets for this shoot both on the set and off. One of the ways I assisted on set was in creating shadows in order for the still set to come to life. For another shot I assisted by using the dimmer switch to adjust lighting. I also helped bounce light for the last shot so it looked like the sun was setting on the caskets. Off the set I was in charge of craft services and I took breakfast, lunch and coffee orders as well as assisted in craft services set-up and overall set clean-up. A well fed crew is a happy crew!
Four Story Tree House, created this spot for BBC and is known for telling stories using miniatures. All miniatures are 100% handcrafted. Produced/written/edited by Joe Sabia. Directed and shot by Vincent Peone.
